Halamang Lubigan

Taong 1950, ang Barangay Lubigan ay saklaw at nasasakop pa ng Brgy. Dancalan Central. Sa kadahilanang ang Brgy. Dancalan Central ay napakalaking barangay , napagkaisahan ng mga tao na nakatira sa gawing kanluran karatig ng Barangay Villa Hiwasayan at gayundin ang kabilang panig na karatig na Barangay Manggalang na humiwalay at magkaroon ng sariling pagpapasinaya. Nagsisilbi ring dahilan ang lubhang napakalayo sa sentro ng pamamahala ng Dancalan Central.

Nang sumunod pang mga taon, ninais na ng mga mamamayan na tuluyan na silang humiwalay sa Dancalan Central at maging isang barangay na may sariling pamahalaan. Nasunod nila ang mga pangunahing pangangailangan upang payagan silang maisakatuparan ito. Kagaya ng pagkakamayroon ng tatlumpung pamilya at kabahayan na nananahan sa nasasakupan. Taong 1955 ng ihalal ng pamayanan dito ang kauna-unahang nilang Tinyente del Barrio sa katauhan ni Ginoong Felix Cayabat. Kasama niya sa panunungkulan sina Ginoong Ramon Quina at Ginoong Hilario Malaluan.

Ayon sa salin-salin na kwento ng mga tao, ang pangalan ng barangay ay nagmula sa isang uri ng halamang gamot na Lubigan. Sagana ang halamang ito na nakatanim sa malawak na kalupaan na sakop ng baryo. Karamihan ng mga kalupaang ito ay pagaari ng Pamilya Pedregal, isa sa mga unang tao na dito'y naninirahan. Nakasanayan na nila na tawaging Lubigan ang lugar, hanggang ng sa ito ay maging ganap na barangay. Ito na rin ang napagpasyahan nilang ipangalan.

Ma. Grenia Boneo Manalo
Secondary School Teacher

A COCOFED Scholar of Guinayangan who graduated BSAE in the Central Luzon State University in 1982, majoring in Animal Science, with Crop Science as her minor. She is a faculty member of the Guinayangan National High School Organ which also is a winner in several Regional and National Conferences.







Ma. Louella P. Oliva
Elementary Grade Teacher

As COCOFED Scholar, she graduated BSBA at the MSEUF in 1985 the pursued BSEED degree, finishing in 1992. Started her career in Public Service as Elementary Grades Teacher, specialization in Choral work. Her Childrens Choir gave distinct honor to the school district by winning First Place twice in the NAMCYA Provincial Competitions of 1992-1999 respectively.






Corazon C. Buerano

College Professor UP

Born in Guinayangan Quezon to Severo Buerano and Josefina Cerilla. Product of Guinayangan Elementary School and Guinayangan Academy, and a Valedictorian. She is a BS Zoology graduate of University of Santo Thomas, 1978, MS Biology ing UP 1968 and Ph.D. Biology in 1995. Associate Professor Institute of Biology, College of Science, UP Diliman Quezon City.








Myrna Salvador
Instructor

Born in Guinayangan Quezon, June 13, 1961, Guinayangan Elementary School graduate in 1974, a scholar of Guinayangan National High School in 1978, she obtained her college degree in BSECE, 1988 from the University of the East, and earned 36 units in education from the Marikina Institute of Science and Technology. She was the Electronics Directress of the International Electronics Technological Institute (IETI) in 1985-1988. Assistant Directress 1992-1998 of IETI, Cainta Rizal. At present she has her own Electronics Repair Shop and Computer Center in the same place.




Rhodelia H. Mendoza

College Professor

Born in Guinayangan to Regalado Hernandez and Conchita Zagala, a consistent honor in the Elementary and Secondary School. Obtained her BSE diploma from Manuel Luis Quezon University majoring in English, and Masters Degree from the University of Santo Thomas, professor in English at the Ateneo University and AMA College.

Felicetas O. Boneo
Master Teacher I

Born in Guinayangan on August 23,1936. finished elementary grades in 1950 and high school in 1954 at the Guinayangan Elementary School and Guinayangan Academy respectively. She hold a college diploma in BSE Major in Math/English from the University of Santo Thomas and ETC in 1964 from the Luzonian Colleges. A faculty member of Guinayangan Academy from 1958 to 1961 and of the Luzonian Academy, Sampaloc ing 1962 to 1964. She transferred for the Elementary School in 1964. She was promoted to Master Teacher I in 1981, retired on June 5,2000 with a total of 41 years in public service.





Pilar A. de la Torre

Master Teacher I

Born on August 8, 1938 to Jose Lagdameo Aguilar and Basilisa Villanueva, married to Silverio de la Torre. From Gumaca Quezon, with 2 daughters, Sarah Jane and Sessie Lyn, both BSN graduates at UST. Finished elementary grades in the Guinayangan Elementary School and high school in Guinayangan Academy, she graduated in 1967 at the Far Eastern University with the degree in BSHE. She was assigned HE teacher of the Guinayangan Elementary School in 1966. Master Teacher I in 1985, retired December 1999. A total of 40 years service in the public school.




Virginia S. Valencia

Master Teacher I

Born in Guinayangan Quezon on March 21, 1922. She finished elementary, secondary, college education at the Centro Escolar University. She holds an ETC/BSE diploma from the same institution with specialized course in Home Economics. From 1946 to 1987 she is specialized teacher in Home Economics of the Guinayangan Elementary School, retired March 22,1987 as Master Teacher I, with a total of fortyone continuous years of service.






Clemencia C. Pujalte

Master Teacher II

Born October 23,1936 to Alejandro Matta Cerilla and Epifania Realo Mendoza in Guinayangan, a BSE degree holder Major in Science from the UST in 1958. Started teaching as Faculty Member of the Guinayangan Academy from 1958 to 1962, transferring to the Guinayangan Elementary School after receiving her ETC diploma from the SPC Lopez Quezon. In 1981 she was promoted to Master Teacher I and Master Teacher II in 1989 after earning MA Academic Units from the Roosevelt College. She retired January 3,2000, with a total teaching experience of forty two years both in private and public schools.



Neyda F. Genato

Master Teacher II

Born October 13,1938 to Pedro S. Fernandez and Bernarda Etorma, finished elementary schooling at the Guinayangan Elementary School and High School at the Calauag Central College. Earned her BSEED diploma from the University of the East in 1966. Passing the Teacher Board Exam in same year, was appointed Elementary Grades Teacher in 1966. Passing the Teacher Board Exam in same year, was appointed Elementary Grades Teacher in 1966, promoted to Master Teacher I in 1980 and Master Teacher II in 1988, retired June 5, 2000.

Started public service as an Elementary Teacher in 1948. Passed the Junior Teacher exam in 1951, earned Elementary Teachers Certificate And Bachelor of Science in Education diploma from SPC now PUP. Passed Senior Teacher Exam in 1956 and finished MA academic in 1977. Promoted to Head Teacher, 1967; Principal Teacher , 1971; and finally Public School Supervisor, 1985, Retired, 1993 with 46 years of public service.

Public School Supervisor

Graduate of BSEED from the Luzonian University (MSEUF) in 1969 and MA in 1969 from Ortanez University 1989, P.h.D Academic requirements 1992. Started public service as an EGT 1967-1972. Head Teacher 1973-1983. Principal I, 1984-1990; Principal II, 1991-1997, then promoted to Public School District Supervisor assigned in Guinayangan 1997.






Luz E. Salumbides
Elementary School Principal I

She was called to public service after liberation in 1946. She finished ETC in 1951 at the SPC, Lopez Quezon. Later Bachelor of Science in Education at the NCPE, with specialization in Physical Education and MA Academic requirements from the Philippine Women's University. She was promoted to Elementary School Principal in 1977, retired, June 24 1991 with a total of 43 years in public service.








Eduviges L. Cataquiz
Elementary School Principal I

Earned her BSE diploma Major HE/Math in 1957 at the Luzonian Colleges and ETC in SPC, Lopez Quezon. Served as secondary school teacher of the Guinayangan Academy 1957-1962. Elementary Grades Teacher 1962-1986; Head Teacher 1987-1991. Promoted to Elementary School Principal Gregorio Mendoza Memorial School, retired January 29, 1999 with a total of 39 years in public service.







Aurea Ornedo Rapadas
High School Principal

Born in Guinayangan on July 19, 1957, she obtained her early education from the Guinayangan Elementary School and Guinayangan National High School. A BSE graduate from Sacred Heart College, Lucena City. She earned her MA diploma from the MSEUF. She has completed the academic requirements in ED.D from the same university. Rose from the ranks as Secondary School Teacher. Department Head in English, in 1995. Promoted as Principal I Secondary School in Mulanay Quezon. Principal I of Dagatan National High School, Dolores Quezon.




Socoro Reformado
High School Principal

Born in 1927 in Guinayangan, finished elementary and secondary schooling at the Guinayangan Elementary School and Jose Rizal College respectively. Obtained her BSE degree, major in English and Filipino at the FEU; acquired Masters Degree at the CEU and academic requirements in Doctoral Studies. Was a faculty member of the CCC- 1951-1953; JRC 1954-1956, promoted to Assistant Principal while serving concurrently as Guidance Director, then High School Principal, retired in 1998.

Graduate of BSEED PNC, with Special Education Units in Preschool education PNC DECS, Guidance and Counseling PUP, Child Growth And Development UP, Special Problems in Literature And Language Teaching, Teaching English as a Second Language - Dela Salle University. Was an Elementary Grades Teacher 1968-1977; and ESL Teacher/ Supervisor ICMC commissioned by US State Department 1981-1992.

Angel Ardiente Jr.
Physician

Born on November 20, 1960. He graduated with honors from Guinayangan National High School. In 1986 he obtained his Medical diploma in Far Eastern University College of Medicine. After passing the Board Exam he rendered public health service from 1989 to 1992 at the Magsaysay Memorial Hospital, later transferring to the Guinayangan Rural Health as Municipal Health Officer.







Alfredo E. Fernandez
Physician
Born in Guinayangan Quezon on December 9,1951 to Pedro Fernandez and Bernarda Etorma. Early schooling in Guinayangan, graduate of Guinayangan Academy as Valedictorian. In 1967 at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay college of Medicine. In 1978 as Special Training in Tropical Diseases in Bangkok, Thailand. Worked as a physician in Zambia. Residency in San Fernando Pampanga Provincial Hospital. Internal Medicine Practitioner in Chesapeake Virginia, United States of America.





Florencia Agno Vergara

Physician

Born in Guinayangan Quezon on November 7,1955. She was a consistent honor student in her grade schoooling at the Guinayangan Elementary School. Finishing the 6th grade as First Honor. And in Secondary Course at the Guinayangan Academy as Valedictorian in 1973. Graduating cum-laude in 1977 at the University of Sto. Thomas in Medical Technology, she pursued her medecal career and earned her diploma as Doctor of Medicine Emeritus in 1981. After completion of Pediatric Residency Training at the National Children Hospital from 1983 to 1987. She was appointed Chief of Hospital at the Guinayangan Medicare Community Hospital.



Archimedes Garcia
Physician

Born in Guinayangan Quezon, January 8,1934 to Mr. and Mrs. Guillermo Garcia. Obtained early education in Guinayangan Elementary School and Guinayangan Academy. He was the school physician of the Guinayangan Academy with private clinic. He migrated to the United States where he work as a government physician in California.








Lilia F. Villarama

Physician

Born in Guinayangan on October 8,1936. A first honor graduate of Guinayangan Elementary School in 1949 and high school salutatorian of Calauag Central College in 1953. She is a UST College of Medicine, 1962, was a resident Physician in the Rizal Provincial Hospital before departure for the United States. Worked in the Exchange Visitor Program where she pursued her studies in the medical schools of the St.Louis Missouri. Pediatric as her specialization. She joins medical missions yearly to the Philippine, being a member and officer of the Fil-American Association of Physician in Missouri.





Teresita S. Fernando
Physician

Born on June 23, 1928 to Faustino Salumbides and Concepcion Marquez. She finished elementary grades at the Centro Escolar University. Her Secondary education was at the Guinayangan Academy, graduating in 1948 as Valedictorian. As scholar in the College of Medicine in University of Sto. Thomas, she became a full-pledge doctor of medicine in 1956 first assigned as resident physician of the Quezon Memorial Hospital, Lucena City School Division Physician in Quezon Province and San Pablo City respectively, their Department of Justice, Physician of the Supreme court up to her retirement.


Nora I. Miclat
Physician

Born on November 21,1945, she was a first honor graduate of Guinayangan Elementary School in 1958, and High School valedictorian of the Sacred Heart College, Lucena City, four years later at the University of Sto.Thomas. She finished her Pre-Med Course magna cum laude, becoming a full-pledge Doctor of Medicine in 1969. She is now an Anesthesiologist in New York, USA and married to Dr.Marciano Miclat.






Gertrudes A. Capio

Dentist

Born in Pasay City Hospital, May 17, 1957 to Elias Aguilar and Primitiva Macalintal, public school teachers. Finished grade school at the Guinayangan Elementary School in 1969 and secondary education at the National University, 1973. She graduated Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Centro Escolar University in 1979. From 1984, she is the Dentist of the Department of Health, assigned presently in the Rural Health Unit of Guinayangan.

Born on January 5,1959, finished elementary education in 1971 and high school at the Guinayangan Academy graduating Valedictorian of her class in 1975. She obtained her Bachelor in Science in Nursing diploma in 1980 from Centro Escolar University and was a Staff Nurse of the Philippine Heart Center from 1981 to 1982. She worked at the Wycoff Medical Center in New York.

Born September 25, 1954 to Nestor Salumbides Sr. and Amparo Argosino. She finished early schooling at the Guinayangan Elementary School and Guinayangan Academy. Born on November 14, 1953 in Guinayangan Quezon to Librado Ornedo and Isabel Suinan, she finished elementary and secondary schooling in Guinayangan Elementary School and Guinayangan Academy respectively.Earned her college diploma in Midwifery in 1973 from the Mary Chiles General Hospital. She was a Special Nurse at the Tamesis Clinic, Doctors Hospital. Nursing Staff, Municipal Nutritionist and Municipal Midwife.
